Welcoming Aleks to the United Team

Meet Aleks, the newest addition to the United Machinists team! He’s joined us through the United Machinists Cadetship, a four-year programme that culminates in a Bachelor of Applied Engineering Technology.

Aleks first gained hands-on experience through a year of work experience at Kings High School as part of the SOREC Engineering Academy programme. Now, under the guidance of Andrew, our senior quality inspector, Aleks is developing the practical skills to complement his studies, setting him up for a strong future in the field.

This is the first time both Otago Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga and United Machinists have offered this kind of program, creating an exciting opportunity to combine classroom learning with real-world industry experience.
